Strong Governing Body:  The Pop Warner Little Scholars program has been in place since 1959.  At all levels, rules and procedures are set out to ensure safety and fairness.  These rules and procedures evolve with the sport and are updated yearly.  

Playing Football With Garner Civitan Pop Warner

GCPW hosts NFL flag football each spring, and Pop Warner tackle football each fall. 

NFL flag football:

• Age-based divisions
• Open to ages 5-13
• Registers at the beginning of the year, with the season running March-May
• We provide:  jersey (child keeps), flag belt & flags (must be returned)
• Parents provide: cleats (no metal), shorts, mouthguards

Pop Warner tackle football:

• Age-based divisions
• Open to ages 5-12 
• Registers in early spring through summer
• Season runs August 1 through October or early November
• Post-season can run as long as December, depending on advancement
• We provide:  jersey, practice pants, game pants, helmet, 7-piece pad set, shoulder pads (all must be returned)
• Parents provide: cleats (no metal), mouthguards
